Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse, using critical thinking skills, coordinates and provides safe, quality care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Demonstrates expertise and knowledge in Endoscopy. Anticipates the needs of the physician and patient for each procedure. Demonstrates knowledge, etiology, and description of detailed procedures and correlating instrumentation involved with endoscopic procedures. Stays current with new techniques and mentors the staff. Assists with staff education. Circulates in cases to assist the proceduralist and to mentor new staff to these procedures. Assures that all equipment is available and in working order. Manages the equipment and inventory and is responsible for organizing the cases on a daily basis. Orders supplies as needed to maintain the necessary inventory for each case. Works with management to coordinate cases and staff.

Education: Graduate of Registered Nurse Program. Periop 101 Program or comparable
Experience: Previous Endoscopy experience. Minimum of One year as an RN or previous Scrub Tech experience
License: REGISTERED NURSE
Certification: BLS/CPR (AMERICAN HEART ASSN)
