Job Summary
Performs and coordinates Fleet Mechanic functions of the PMC EMS department. The EMT Extern will additionally be accountable for cross training with all aspects of the Fleet, Logistics and Technology division, while attending an approved EMT education program. The position will operate under the direction of the Assistant Chief of Fleet, Logistics and Technology to ensure the operations of the EMS department are conducted in a cost effective manner while eliminating any disruption to the readiness of operations.
Responsibilities
- Satisfactory participation in an approved EMT education program.
- Assess, trouble shoot and recommend the need for outside vendor repairs.
- All aspects of fleet technology (radio equipment, computer systems, MedVaults, InMotion gateways & software) to include inventory, repair/replacement and distribution.
- All aspects of the Physio Control equipment to include a master inventory list, replacement schedule, parts ordered as needed, and coordinate PM’s as needed
- Participates in PMC EMS clinical inservice.
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
- Required:
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Licensure/Certification:
- Valid South Carolina or North Carolina Drivers License
- BLS required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire
- South Carolina EMT certification (within six months)
- Nationally Registered EMT certification (within six months)
- PEPP required within six months
- NIMS compliant with Incident Command/Incident Management within 90 days
