Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant

- Reviews evaluations and treatment plans of assigned patients using appropriate tools and following program protocols within established timeframes. Carries out treatment plan as outlined by the physical therapist and in accordance with patient and multi-disciplinary team goals in a timely manner.
- Provides modalities or other procedures in accordance with established protocols and documented competency with appropriate supervision
- Completes documentation including variance notes, in accordance with regulatory requirements and professional documentation standards
- Manages full caseload in accordance with productivity standards established by facility
- Performs related duties as required.
With supervision of a licensed physical therapist, administers optimal patient care by planning, organizing and implementing a physical therapy program including assessment, documentation and treatment for individual patients referred by Licensed Independent Practitioner. All assessment and treatment media, approaches and techniques will be appropriate and specific to population served including general rehabilitation services to pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Required
- Education: Graduate of an APTA approved physical therapy assistant education program: successful completion of minimum of two months supervised fieldwork experience: successful completion of the licensure process for the physical therapy assistant.
- Experience: Must possess ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team
- Certification:
- Must have current licensure in South Carolina.
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required
Preferred:
- Experience: 1+ year of practice experience as a PTA preferred.
