The Market Director, Clinical Education is responsible for executing Tenet’s organizational educational strategic plan. They are a leader, mentor, consultant, and subject matter expert regarding education regulations and standards. The Market Director, Clinical Education plans, revises, implements, monitors, and evaluates education programs and activities for the Tenet Market across all clinical disciplines. In this role the Director oversees market and facility clinical educators, department operations, and the coordination of educational activities. They work collaboratively with team members, department Directors, Medical Staff, hospital employees, and other organizational leaders.
Responsibilities:- Plans, develops, and maintains the hospital education program to include annual education needs assessment for staff, plans and schedules educational activities as needed according to assessment results, PA&I reports, EOC reports and for new procedures and equipment
- Directs and coordinates market/facility/departmental activities in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and within Tenet corporate/facility policies
- Coordinates new employee, agency, contractor, student and volunteer orientation and training. Assists in the development of the orientation program each month and as needed. Coordinates the documentation of participation in orientation programs with Human Resources and Department Directors
- Investigates education resources through personal network, brochures, journals, etc., on an ongoing basis based on identified hospital staff needs
- Identify and seize real time education/mentoring opportunities. Develop, assess and evaluate educational needs assessment
- Performs related duties as required.
Required:
- Education: MSN and graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Experience: 5 years nursing experience, 3 years in a clinical leadership role
- Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
- A valid Permanent Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside is required.
- Should you hold a RN license from another Compact state, you are required to apply for and obtain a Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside within 30 days.
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS CPR required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire
Preferred:
- Experience: Teaching and staff development experience.
- Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
- American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor preferred.
- Advanced certification in specialty field and/or participation in professional organization(s) encouraged.
