Position Summary
The Director of Health Information Management is responsible for oversight and management of the Health Information Management Department. Assesses, plans, coordinates, manages and directs the efforts of all personnel in the department. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master’s in Business Administration or Master’s Degree in a health related field from an accredited college or university
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 4 years working experience in an acute care hospital or business organization.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 3 years of demonstrated leadership or experience in an acute care Health Information Management Department or similar health care setting or environment.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): NA
