POSITION SUMMARY (General statement reflecting the overall purpose of the position.) Under general supervision performs various jobs for patient food preparation. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Must be able to read, write and speak English.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: NA

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year in patient-feeding food service establishment

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: NA

REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): NA

General Functions: Performs duties for patient tray preparation, retail sales and catering Chops, slices and peels food Transports carts to and from the different units Delivers trays and snacks to the patient Transports food to other areas as needed Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine Cleans and sanitizes dishes Operates, cleans and sanitizes necessary equipment Sweeps and mops all areas of the department Collects and disposes of trash Stocks and cleans nourishment rooms/refrigerators as assigned Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations Utilizes resources efficiently and effectivelyMaintains safe work environment Addresses patient population-specific needs Participates in Performance Improvement activities
