Job Summary
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the hands-on activation of marketing tactics at the grassroots level in support of hospital, physician, and service line priorities. This role focuses on executing integrated marketing tactics—including events, community seminars, sponsorships, organic social media, and local outreach—to build awareness, drive engagement, and drive customer acquisition. Serving as a key field-based marketing partner, the Specialist works closely with hospital leadership, physicians, clinical teams, and internal marketing and communications partners to bring marketing plans to life in the market. The coordinator engages with the community and key community stakeholders. The role emphasizes execution, community presence, and performance recaps to demonstrate impact and return on investment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, execution-focused, and comfortable supporting multiple facilities in a fast-paced, matrixed healthcare environment. The specialist will report to the hospital Marketing Director or Manager and have strong day-to-day interactions with the field marketing team, communications team, hospital administration and clinical leaders and home office marketing team. Other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
General Functions:
Marketing Execution
• Provides comprehensive support and assistance with day-to-day activities across the network.
• Supports execution of marketing strategy, brand development, and multi-channel strategy through implementation of tactical initiatives
• Provides project management and evaluation for assigned projects.
• Coordinate content development, approvals, and deployment with internal stakeholders. Proactively work with home office on all content development
• Maintain a network-wide Annual Wins / Highlights document for reporting and Year in Review materials.
Community & Event Activation – (Consumer Facing Only)
• Plan, coordinate, and activate community events, health fairs, sponsorships, community outreach events, hospital celebrations, and physician- or hospital-led seminars, with the goal of driving qualified leads and consumer engagement.
• Provide onsite setup and logistical support for consumer-faced facility events, which may include:
o Healthcare celebrations
o Ribbon cuttings
o Milestone events
• Provide on-site logistical and operational support for consumer events, including setup, materials, vendor coordination, and tear-down.
• Partner with physicians and hospital leaders to support community education initiatives and outreach opportunities.
• Coordinate participation in community-sponsored events aligned with organizational priorities.
• Ensure brand standards and messaging are executed consistently at all events.
• Measure success of events, summarize activation, and consistently share recaps of events.
Grassroots Marketing Execution
• Activate local marketing tactics that support hospital and service line growth goals, including distribution of campaign materials and community-facing promotions.
• Serve as the primary marketing point of contact for assigned hospitals, service lines, or projects.
• Coordinate with internal marketing teams, agencies, and vendors to execute approved marketing plans.
• Support multi-channel campaign execution with a strong emphasis on local activation.
Organic Social Media & Digital Content
• Execute organic social media posting for the market, assigned hospitals and/or service line channels in alignment with approved content strategies.
• Capture photos, short-form videos, and testimonials at events and in the field for use on social, internal, and digital platforms.
• Maintain posting cadence and brand consistency for location-specific pages.
• Capture photos and short-form videos at events for use on social and internal platforms.
• Conduct audits of facility social pages and competitor content.
• Measure KPI’s of organic social and proactively make recommendations
Operational Support
• Request quotes and manage purchase orders (POs) for marketing materials.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of marketing materials.
• Maintain documentation related to marketing orders and expenses and support budget tracking
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of marketing, advertising agency, communications or coordination experience. Strong written communication and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities across facilities. Proficiency with the use of PowerPoint, Word, Excel and social media tools. Strong organizational, follow-up, and stakeholder management skills. Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Healthcare or multi-location experience
