Job Summary

PRN DAYS

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is responsible for administrative duties and front office processes in the wound care clinic. Collects co-pays, obtains authorizations and posts charges, and facilitates the referral process for the patient. Coordinates office services and related activities. Follows set programs for the maximum utilization of services. Must have knowledge of general health care issues, trends and quality management. Responsible for scheduling for the clinic, monitoring clinic numbers, generating and interpreting daily and weekly productivity reports. Responsible for work processes of the department as well as daily operations. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient check-in/check-out, including registration, demographic updates, and insurance verification
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments and provider calendars
  • Collect co-pays, balances, and maintain accurate payment records
  • Answer phones and address patient inquiries with professionalism
  • Manage eFax inbox; route referrals, orders, and documents appropriately
  • Scan and maintain accurate records in the EMR system
  • Coordinate patient flow and notify clinical staff of arrivals or delays
  • Schedule follow-ups and support continuity of care
  • Verify insurance eligibility and assist with authorization processes
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, documentation, and organizational policies

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associates Degree from an accredited school or college. Completion of Medical Office Assistant Program. 
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years of medical office experience 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 4 years medical office experience
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Healthcare management/administration certification.
