Job Summary

The Quality Coordinator contributes to the Quality Team by assisting in data capture, aggregation and analysis along with just-in-time education and facilitation of quality improvement projects. Activities are coordinated in conjunction with regulatory compliance and patient safety efforts. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the capture of raw performance data for entry into various databases. Data capture could include, but would not be limited to, observation of practices and medical record review.
- Assists in the analysis of quality data as well as the communication of said data to facilitate and educate key stakeholders on impact.
- Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships within system and hospital stakeholders related to quality improvement initiatives.
- Educates staff regarding quality improvement to foster a culture of quality and safety. Education techniques utilized include just-in-time education.
- Facilitates quality improvement activities in coordination with hospital and quality leadership.
- Distributes and communicates best practices for continual improvement in conjunction with the hospital and quality leadership team.
- Participates in continuing education activities in an effort to capture themes both locally and nationally that will effect prioritization of quality improvement efforts.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in healthcare based discipline or 8 years of equivalent healthcare work experience in lieu of degree
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters Degree in a healthcare related field
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years experience in healthcare quality improvement activities
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: NA
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or other certification in healthcare quality. License in clinical discipline, strongly preferred.
