POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurse

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years combined experience in hospital clinical practice, management and/or clinical education in a healthcare setting with demonstrated expertise in caring for patients within a designated practice area. Working knowledge of hospital regulatory standards, Core Measures and National Patient Safety Goals. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in a designated practice area with demonstrated skill in nursing leadership
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network

Description

SUMMARY

Coordinates compliance with Core Measure Requirements at hospital level in conjunction with facility quality manager and hospital administration. Actively participates in concurrent case review to assure that evidence based best practices are implemented timely for core measures patients. Tracks compliance of measures and provides staff education relating to the externally reported measurements. Assists in the planning and implementation of interventions to ensure evidence-based practices are implemented (i.e. Core Measures for AMI, HF, Pneumonia, SCIP). Works closely with providers, nurses and other members of the organization by demonstrating effective communications, teaching and negotiating skills. Is accountable for quality assessment and efficient managed care. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
