Job Summary
This position is responsible for the shift supervision and monitoring of security personnel engaged in the duty of providing a secure environment. These duties include, but are not limited to, the daily operations of security, and assists in the coordination of the integrity and proper functioning of all physical security systems during their assigned shifts. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (Three to five years in a security role, law enforcement or military disciplines or equivalent training which might include criminal justice, homeland security, or law enforcement academy is preferred).

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years of supervisory experience or progressively increased responsibility around supervisory-type duties.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Requires the ability to obtain, and maintain, appropriate state license/certifications for this position.
- Level II Noncommissioned Security Officer with the Texas Commission on Private Security within 60 days of hire
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) within 60 days of employment or transfer date into the department
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
- Texas Security Officer Commission Level III
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform continuous physical exertion activities (going up and down multiple flights of stairs, standing and walking for extended periods of time, carrying people in emergency situations, etc.) as needed.
- Must meet all physical requirements of the job. This could require an annual physical.
- Must be able to perform duties wearing personal protective equipment (Masks, gowns, security-related equipment, etc.), as required;
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, as well as an annual background check;
- Effective written and oral communication skills a must (includes using proper grammar and spelling or report writing responsibilities);
- Effective interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional and effective manner;
- Ability to use initiative and independent judgment;
- Ability to frequently prepare written reports and provide quality customer service;
- Ability to handle both common and crisis situations, calmly and efficiently.
