POSITION SUMMARY
Indirectly provides patient care to perioperative patients along the continuum of the age spectrum following established practices and standards. Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
General Functions:
Sets up room to meet the required needs and makes adjustments as directed
Assists in positioning and securing patient on correct operating table at designated time and performs patient care procedures as directed by RN
Cleans and maintains OR equipment in assigned area
Cleans operating room equipment and assigned areas
Escorts or transports patients applying appropriate transfer techniques
Delivers specimens to laboratories as directed
Stocks supplies and reports items for reorder
Serves as a role model for service excellence and commits to Studer Principles and “must haves”
Supports effective patient hand-offs
Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
Maintains safe environment
Addresses patient population-specific needs
Participates in Performance Improvement activities
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Hospital experience as a surgical attendant or nursing assistant.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life
Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
