Position Summary:
Provides safe and effective food service for patients, visitors, and staff. Follows guidelines for Infection Control and Food Safety. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all items in work area. Prepares food using standardized recipes and food production sheets, to meet menu requirements.
- Follows Infection Control Guidelines to ensure Food Safety. Provide optimum sanitary food service by maintaining a clean workstation and performing appropriate cleaning duties.
- Provide safe, efficient and effective food service by preparing meals using food production sheets and standardized recipes to meet menu requirements.
- Provide food service to staff, visitors and physicians.
- Adheres to SRRMC Behavior Standards.
- Assume responsibilities for providing weekend, evening and special functions as required.
- Purchase approved foods from approved vendors. Properly rotate supplies and discard outdated items. Clean and organize storage areas.
- Provide efficient food service in the capacity of cafeteria relief server.
- Accurately maintain required records and logs. Complete assigned .EDU’s & other required hospital education (by the due date) and assigned cleaning lists (including date and initial on printed log sheet immediately following task completion).
- Ensure efficient operation of work station in the absence of the Food Service Director.
- Accountable for maintaining a good record of attendance and punctuality.
- Accountable for demonstrating current knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. Complies with SRRMC Policies/Procedures protecting patient information and the confidentiality of the information in accordance with the Federal and State regulations.
Minimum Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent
Minimum Experience/Skills:
Minimum one (1) year of experience in the last six (6) years, cooking in a foodservice operation using hot cooking equipment. Safe knife skills required. Ability to read, follow and implement recipes and written directions.
Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification preferred.
