Job Summary

This is an in-person role that will require local travel to hospital sites and outpatient practices.

This Practice Manager Posting supports hospital-based billing functions for the Detroit Market. The role continues to evolve as we partner with the revenue cycle team to support optimized workflows and improves efficiency.

We are seeking an experienced Billing, Finance, or Revenue Cycle subject expert to support multiple responsibilities across the full lifecycle of a medical claim. This role will focus on educating and supporting physicians and midlevel's on appropriate diagnosis coding, CPT selection, and billing levels to ensure accurate and compliant reimbursement.

Responsibilities

Key expectations include:

  • Creating and analyzing financial reports for reconciliation with physicians
  • Identifying obstacles, and sharing insights with executive leadership to drive process improvement and growth initiatives
  • The role will also provide day to day support to physicians regarding billing questions, coordinate coding education meetings, and support documentation requirements in collaboration with coding teams
  • Work all claims in the Practice-Operations worklist for the assigned provider 
  • Meet with providers regarding any and all outstanding items- Missing Slips/Incomplete charges in MM
  • Review and analyze all RCM month-end Reports- Denials, Non-Contractuals, and all other KPI’s
  • Work with Referral Coordinator’s on what CPT codes are not added to Auth’s from HB surgical Schedulers. Meet monthly with hospital based staff to socialize all denials for your providers for auth’s patient insurance issues etc. 
  • Work with coding to socialize any and all coding denials or issues
  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed to support operational and financial goals.
Qualifications

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

Experience

Required: 3 years of experience in progressive and hands-on managerial experience in a medical practice

At least 5 years of billing and coding experience 

Must be able to adapt and speak freely to Physicians regarding signing notes timely; these conversations can be very difficult.
