BioMed Engineering FT Days Position Summary

The Biomedical Equipment Tech facilitates the clinical equipment program in a single hospital environment as assigned. The employee installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates and verifies the performance of most classes of clinical equipment and/or supervises the work of others completing these tasks. The Team Lead serves as technical advisor to the medical and clinical staff in the safe operation and proper use of clinical equipment and assists in developing specifications for the selection of new items of clinical equipment. The individual is responsible for the safety, performance, and calibration of clinical equipment involved in patient care. The individual demonstrates adherence to the TriMedx core values in all professional interactions by showing respect to all people, creating real value, initiating meaningful change, and exhibiting integrity.

THE BIOMED ENGINEERING FT DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

EDUCATION
Required: Associate degree in biomedical equipment technology or electronics or equivalent training and experience.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Required: None
Preferred: BMET Certification

WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: 5+ years of progressive responsibility in multiple clinical areas and/or multiple modalities
Preferred: 7+ years of progressive responsibility

Skills
Required: Ability to support multiple clinical areas

Knowledge
Required: Extensive knowledge of electronics including solid state technology and both linear and digital integrated circuits operation. Extensive knowledge of the hazards and applicable safety standards and performance requirements relating to biomedical instrumentation. Working knowledge of the latest and most advanced troubleshooting, calibration, and repair techniques. Working knowledge of the operation, underlying physiological principles, and practical and safe use of patient-care equipment. Knowledge of the organization and operation of hospitals. Exhibits excellent leadership, interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to aid the troubleshooting and problem solving process. Ability to lead, train, and supervise clinical engineering staff. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing using technical terms and descriptions with a diverse group of customers and associates. Ability to make sound decisions in a timely and effective manner. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Other
Required: Must be able to work rotating shifts, holidays and/or weekends as required. Must be able to perform work from ladders and other high places; must possess normal color vision and normal or correctable hearing. Must be able to work in confined or restricted spaces wearing protective equipment as required and able to work in extreme in door and outdoor conditions. Must be able to transport self to various sites as required. When using own vehicle or company-provided vehicle, must have valid Arizona drivers’ license and proof of insurance that meets the minimum standards of the state of Arizona.
