Job Summary
This position provides strategic and tactical Human Resources leadership with a focus on Labor Relations. Incumbent will support the Carondelet Health Network hospitals in all aspects of the day to day human resources support, including labor relations and interpretation of union contracts. The incumbent will assist the CHRO with policy review, development, implementation, and administration as well as partnering with hospital leadership to manage, expand, and improve upon the employee experience. The incumbent will be the CHRO designee where and when appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Answers human resources related questions regarding Collective Bargaining Agreement, Hospital policies, and procedures.
- Serves as advisor, mentor and coach for leaders to facilitate achievement of objectives and improve performance and potential; help leaders to most effectively manage organizational issues.
- Serves as the primary contact for Tenet’s Labor Relations Team and the Union for all labor relations matters. This includes, but is not limited to, seeking guidance from the Tenet Labor Relations Team, responding to grievances and arbitrations; RFI’s, contract interpretation, etc. This individual is also a member of the bargaining team.
- Partners with the CHRO to assist in the design, development and implementation of an employee relations program that addresses consistent application of Human Resources policies, including progressive discipline, termination issues and grievances.
- Supports CHRO in providing management oversight to all employees within human resources and employee health.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of labor law and contracts.
- Serves as primary resource for HR Generalists, Managers, and Directors regarding employee/labor relations issues
- Responds to data requests and informational requests from NNOC and others
- Works closely with internal and external resources to identify root causes and trends of employee relations issues, and drives systemic improvement.
- Assesses the needs and expectations of all customers. Ensures timely and effective communication.
- Develops and implements strategies, partnerships and plans to maintain and continuously improve levels of customer service.
- Partners strategically with CHRO and hospital leadership to develop solutions that drive business results.
- Assists with development of HR policies, processes, and practices to ensure effective execution and compliance as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of human resources generalist experience with at least one (1) year in a unionized environment; at least two (2) years of management/leadership experience; Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with a variety of software programs, including but not limited to MS Office; Adobe; HRIS Systems; Taleo, etc.
- Education: Bachelor’s in Labor Relations Management, Human Resources Management, Business, or related field.

- Education: Master’s in Labor Relations Management, Human Resources Management, Business, or related field
- Certifications: PHR or SPHR; SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
