Pharmacy Tech I FT Rotating Position Summary
The individual in this position will assist in preparing, packaging, delivering, and charging of medications, under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Position duties include the following activities:
Responsibilities
-fill and label medications
-stock medications into pharmacy inventory
-restock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs)
-maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications
-deliver medications to patient care areas
-attend to medication requests and phone calls
-assist in Pharmacy quality assurance activities
-comply with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet and hospital policies and procedures
-assist pharmacists in performing various duties as assigned
PHARMACY TECH I FT ROTATING CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Required: Pharmacy Technician Licensure by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy.
EDUCATION
Required: High School Graduate or equivalent
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred: Hospital Experience
Certifications
Required: Registered Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacy Technician certification, as required by State law; or, must obtain within one year.

Description
The individual in this position acts under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and provides assistance in dispensing functions, including: purchasing, inventory control of all drug classes, sterile product preparation and associated equipment maintenance, and automated dispensing cabinet equipment and inventory maintenance. Also performs technical duties to maintain pharmaceutical dispensing functions to all neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including inpatients and outpatients.
