Pharmacy Tech II FT Rotating Position Summary

Provides distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist. Must be able to work a rotating schedule to include both day and evening shifts.

Responsibilities

Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.

Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.

Repackages bulk medications.

Receives and stores incoming supplies.

Answers telephone, respond to pharmacy window, makes stat deliveries as needed, and performs monthly inspections as assigned.

Accurately prepares IV admixtures and other sterile products (i.e. TPN /Chemo/ Ophth)- if applicable.

Replenishes and replaces expired medications in various carts/code carts/boxes/trays/kits.

Bills and credits medications and IV solutions.

Assist in training new technicians.

Performs other duties as assigned.

PHARMACY TECH II FT ROTATING CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

Required: Pharmacy Technician Licensure by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy.

EDUCATION

Required: Must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma, and pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) examination or another Board approved Pharmacy Technician examination.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required: Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred: At least six (6) months of recent related experience. Knowledge of hospital pharmacy, computer order entry, IV admixture, and unit dose medications.
