Position Summary
Coordinates nursing activities and resources within clinical specialty or department.
- Coordinates staff scheduling and educational/development activities.
- Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
- Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of quality assurance and/or improvement initiatives.
- Serves as resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, policies and procedures.
- Monitors departmental compliance with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Directs the work flow and guides the clinical process of therapist, assistants, technicians and clerical staff.
- Assists in Human Resource management through involvement in the processes of interviewing, orienting, counseling issues and performance evaluations.
- Serves as a leader in program development.
- Facilitates program improvement through the performance assessment and improvement process.
- Updates policy and procedures and assists manager in development of new policies.
- Monitors and facilitates financial transactions of assigned program to ensure cost effective delivery of quality care and services.
- Provides input into the annual budgetary process.
- Minimum Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Experience: Three (3) years related experience.
- Licensure/Certifications:
- Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association and others as required by individual department. National certification in clinical specialty as defined in the addendums.
- Preferred Requirements:
- Education: BSN, Bachelor (BS,BA) in related field
- Experience: One (1) year supervisory/leadership.
