Job Summary:
Responsible for performing a number of clerical duties while assisting licensed staff by providing direct patient care when required. Enters patient information, physician orders and other critical data into appropriate systems while facilitating communication between members of the healthcare team. Delivers safe patient care by bathing patients, taking vital signs and assisting them with daily functions. Performs EKG's as directed, documenting information per departmental policy. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities1. Responsible for completing a number of clerical and computer support duties required to admit patients to the unit.
2. Responsible for preparing patient as part of the admitting process.
3. Responsible for facilitating communication between patients, patient-families, staff, physicians and ancillary departments.
4. Responsible for completing a variety of patient care duties including personal care and basic nursing procedures under the direct supervision of licensed staff.
5. Responsible for performing accurate and timely electrocardiograms (EKG).
6. Responsible for adhering to regulatory requirements.
7. Responsible for observing confidentiality practices regarding patients and staff at all times.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Preferred Education - Approved Basic Dysrhythmia Class
- Preferred Skills - Ability to relieve Monitor Tech
