Qualifications
Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus available based on experience
Minimum Education / Licensure / Certifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Technologists
- A BS or BA degree in Medical Technology or related field.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience to include: specialized and complex analysis, computer experience, quality control, calibration, QC evaluation, inventory control, preventative maintenance, quality improvement, work scheduling, PI planning, and charges.
Licenses, Certifications
- American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent
- Laboratory Superiors License in 5 areas of Laboratory in State of Florida
Experience
- 5 years experience in an Acute Care Facility setting with 3 years in a lead or supervising capacity.

Position Summary
The Laboratory Manager is responsible for assisting the Laboratory Services Director and the Medical Laboratory Director in the management and supervision of the Laboratory. The Manager will provide administrative direction to all sections. Provides technical direction to those areas in which the Manager is licensed. Supports the Laboratory Services Director by assuming the role as a leader in planning, directing, and managing the laboratory, designated sections, and staff to assure quality service on a 24-hour basis. Responsible for assisting the Laboratory Services Director in meeting JCAHO, AHCA, CAP,FDA and AABB, CLIA and OIG/HCFA standards, complying with corporate policy and procedure, managing the equipment in the department, promoting teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and appropriate resource management. Performs statistical analysis of tests volumes, TAT and other quality indicators. Maintains charge master and analysis patient charges to ascertain they are accurate.
