Job Summary

Full Time, Rotate

The Lactation Consultant is a registered nurse who, using critical thinking skills, directs and evaluates patient care activities occurring within her/his assigned area of demonstrated clinical expertise. The LC must have the ability to lead and motivate professional and ancillary staff to develop their breastfeeding practice, knowledge and skill base, while coordinating with other members of the health care team to ensure quality patient care.

Education:        

Graduate of Registered Nurse Program        


Experience:        

3-5 years                    


License:        

REGISTERED NURSE    


Certification:        

BLS/CPR (AMERICAN HEART ASSN)     

NRP (AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS)                                       
INTERNATIONAL BOARD CERTIFIED LACTATION CONSULTANT (IBCLC)

St. Marys Medical Center (SMMC), part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 420-bed acute care hospital in West Palm Beach. The hospital has been serving Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast for more than 80 years.SMMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a state-designated Pediatric Trauma Referral Center, certified Comprehensive Stoke Center, and has a level III NICU.
