Position Summary:
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) serves as the clinical expert for assigned Nursing areas. The nurse practitioner works collaboratively with medical staff and assists with the treatment of both acute and chronic conditions through comprehensive history taking, physical exams, physical therapy, ordering tests and therapies for patients within their scope of practice. The ARNP ensures continuity between clinical practice and standards of care. They also facilitate patient preparation for procedures, reaching plan of care goals, and all other patient care initiatives progressing towards discharge. This individual works collaboratively with all health care disciplines utilizing a team approach.

EDUCATION:
Minimum: Master's Degree in Nursing Science with Board Certification through either the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the Academy of Nurse Practitioners
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: Five (5) years experience in critical care nursing or (1) year experience as a nurse practitioner.
Preferred: Five years (5) experience as practicing nurse practitioner.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
Current Florida (formerly ARNP) APRN License, Current American Heart Association BLS/ACLS Certification. Any APRN who has contact with pediatric trauma patients, current American Heart Association PALS certification is required.
