Position Summary:
The Paramedic is a licensed Paramedic and functions under the direct supervision of the Staff Nurse, Department Director, or Clinical Manager of the unit. He/she assists with patient care by performing clinical & supportive functions that he/she has documented competency to perform. The Paramedic adheres to policy, procedures & established standards of practice.
- The Paramedic assists with direct patient care as directed by the nurse and/or physician.
- The Paramedic must utilize good communication skills.
- Participates in the Quality Improvement process to improve patient outcomes.
- Complies with all policies & procedures that pertain to HIPAA including the minimum necessary requirements this job position.
- Successfully completes department specific competency requirements and certifications.
EDUCATION:
Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum education required for licensure as a Paramedic in the State of Florida.
EXPERIENCE:
None required. One (1) year of Emergency Services experience preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
State of Florida Paramedic License; BLS and ACLS certification; CPI certification within three (3) months of hire into position. EKG competency on hire
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Completes blood draw competency within 3-months of hire into position.
