Job Summary

Under direction of Medical Staff Services Director, works independently to coordinate a variety of medical staff office functions; has considerable autonomy to set priorities and deadlines within a defined structure, coordinates with and confers with other personnel involved in the credentialing process and is responsible for communicating all activities to the Director of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Works independently under the direction of the Medical Staff Services Director to coordinate a variety of Medical Staff Office functions.
  • Exercises considerable autonomy in establishing priorities and meeting deadlines within established guidelines and procedures.
  • Coordinates credentialing activities with internal and external personnel involved in the medical staff credentialing process.
  • Serves as a key liaison to ensure efficient communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with the Medical Staff Services Director regarding credentialing activities, progress, and issues requiring attention.
  • Performs related duties as required

Qualifications

Required

  • Education: High School degree or equivalent required
  • Experience:
    • Three years of experience in a healthcare administrative position in Medical Staff Credentialing required.
    • Computer experience with Microsoft Office, data entry and retrieval required

Preferred

  • Education: Associates degree in Medical Staff or Health Science preferred
  • Experience:
    • Experience with FPPE/OPPE, preferred
    • Familiarity with MIDAS, ECHO, EXCEL, and KRONOS preferred
  • Certification/License:
    • Current certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services as a Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPSC) preferred.
    • Actively pursuing if not currently certified.
