Job Summary

The Mental Health Assistant, under the direction of the RN, is responsible and accountable for performing specific skills and duties which contribute to safe and effective nursing care.

Responsibilities
  • Will perform direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Incorporate unit specific policies, procedures and protocols in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills and maintains current competency in those waive testing procedures required by department.
  • Performs related duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Licensure/Certification: Heartsaver/ AED required

  • Preferred:
    • Experience: Minimum one year experience as inpatient nurses assistant/orderly preferred
