Sterile Processing Manager

- Managing the decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation processes.
- Assures that appropriate practices and methods are maintained according to manufacturer recommendations, departmental policies, and in compliance with standards set by regulatory agencies and professional associations.
- Oversees instrument inventory workflow, maintains the effective use of associated technology/ computer systems for instruments, tracking and reporting.
- Maintains quality control systems, including appropriate documentation.
- Ensures staffing is appropriate by monitoring FTE budget numbers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Provides leadership for the sterile processing department and all facets of sterile processing and perioperative supply chain functions. Initiates and completes operational plans that ensure quality while utilizing available resources efficiently.
- Required:
- Education: Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 1 year management experience.
- 3 years progressive work-related experience in sterile processing or surgical services.
- Licensure/Certification:
- BLS,
- IAHCSMM, or
- CBSPD certified.
- Preferred:
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Experience:
- 3 years in a leadership role.
- Able to demonstrate an advanced knowledge of instrumentation.
- Demonstrated prior experience working with instrument tracking systems.
- CST or operating room RN experience.
