Primary Duties
1. Participates as a team member. Recognizes responsibilities and boundaries of job description. Provides self-directed assistance to other team members. Takes and gives direction effectively. Communicates problems effectively in appropriate forum. As regularly scheduled employee, has an ongoing department project approved by the Department Director. Procedures and interventions are appropriately prioritized and completed in a timely manner.
2. Participates in Department Performance Improvement Programs. Consistently completes PI improvement assignments. Participates in department PI activities. Verbalizes knowledge of department and PI programs. Changes practice patterns in response to PI study recommendations.
3. Has working knowledge of department policies and procedures. Documents appropriately on correct forms. Cleans and prepares treatment areas and equipment between patients. Conducts job duties in accordance with departmental standards. Reviews information files, personal file and E-mail on each shift. Responds promptly to inquiries/items in file. Attends 75% of staff meetings (on-call personnel exempt). Documentation is complete, correct, legible and current. Correct forms are consistently selected and completed. Treatment areas are cleaned, stocked and readied for next patient. Equipment is kept in constant repair and readiness for use.
4. Demonstrates competence in the care of neonatal, infant, adolescent, adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients (when/if assigned to these patients) relative to determining and carrying out patient care activities. Family in waiting room is kept informed of patients’ status. Patients/residents are treated with sensitivity according to their needs, age, culture and religious backgrounds. Families are regularly informed. Complaints are investigated and actions documented.
5. Processes physician/nursing orders correctly and in a timely manner. Orders are initiated within 20 minutes in order of priority.
6. Maintains certifications/licenses without prompting or intervention. Required certifications and licenses are current. Copies of certifications and licenses are on file on the personnel file.
7. Answers BLS radio calls promptly using established protocols.
Up to $5,000 Sign-On bonus based on experience!
Shift: Days, 7:00am to 7:30pm with every other weekend required

• Occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or unit elements
• Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness)
• Handles emergency or crisis situations
• May perform emergency care
Minimum Education/Certification:
• High School or equivalent.
• Current California CNA Certification
• Current BLS Certification
