Children’s Hospital of Michigan is an international leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine. Surgical services include general, thoracic, reconstructive and cardiovascular. Imaging technology designed specifically for children provides advanced diagnostic services including Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and MRI. The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Emergency Department is a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and dedicated pediatric burn center. Experts in pediatric critical care, rehabilitation, and neonatal and perinatal medicine provide care for thousands of children every year at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Children’s Hospital of Michigan - Troy and six ambulatory sites.

Job Summaries

Manages the personnel, clinical and/or technical and financial activities of an assigned area (s) of Invasive Cardiology (Cardiac Cath, EP Lab) at assigned hospital. Works in conjunction with other facility and system management teams to integrate programs, as required, and to coordinate the work of assigned nursing and/or technical and support personnel. Responsible for operating assigned departments in accordance with system-wide goals and objectives. Ensures patient care is rendered consistent with established standards, policies and procedures.

In conjunction with higher management indentifies policy needs, drafts policy provisions and provides interpretation and application as appropriate. Monitors the quality and quantity of work-flow to ensure operations meet the highest standards of patient care, productivity, and fiscal responsibility.

Initiates/recommends personnel actions such as performance appraisals, hiring, performance improvement plans, and progressive discipline up to termination of employment.

Develops daily, monthly and/or yearly goals and measurements for assigned areas and, as requested, participates in the preparation and monitoring of operating and capital budgets. Identifies need for policy development and/or revisions, defines policies in collaboration with higher level management input, goals and objectives.

Oversees or directs development and/or revision of function, department or service procedures/protocols within assigned functional areas. Approves procedures/protocols and/or seeks other department approvals as appropriate. Develops monitors and revises functional processes for assigned areas. Provides input into development and revision of policies, procedures, protocols and organizational structure.

Measures and assesses performance. As requested, assists in long range goal development. Assists in development of and monitors budget. Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations. Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.



Qualifications:

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Three to five years of progressively more responsible experience with a strong emphasis in Cardiology Invasive Procedures.
