Description:
Children’s Hospital of Michiganis an international leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine. Surgical services include general, thoracic, reconstructive and cardiovascular. The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Emergency Department is a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and dedicated pediatric burn center. Experts in pediatric critical care, rehabilitation, and neonatal and perinatal medicine provide care for thousands of children every year at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Children’s Hospital of Michigan - Troy and six ambulatory sites.
Job Summary
Under general supervision of the manager for the specialty area, participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide consultative nursing services within a clinical area of specialization. Serves as a patient advocate and provides emotional support and home care instructions for patient and family; provides ongoing staff and community education and supports the implementation of outreach/outpatient programs.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN).
2. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan.
3. Specialty certification by professional organization, preferred.
4. A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, including one year in area of specialization. Two to three years Pediatric nursing experience, including one year in area of specialization, if in a pediatric setting. Pediatric acute care experience preferred.
