Summary Description

Under limited supervision, modifies the payroll computer systems as necessary to support process efficiencies and changes in pay practices, taxes, policy, scheduling and productivity, etc. Develops and maintains reports utilizing data depositories to generate a variety of payroll-related reports for hospital management and/or government agencies on a regular basis. Participates in quarter and year-end projects including weekly payroll and W2 analysis and reconciliations. Assist with the implementation of enhanced processes including documentation Standard Operating procedures and training.

  1. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for Timekeeping applications (KRONOS Advance Scheduler, Timekeeper). Maintains systems to support analytics for over 12+ facilities and 3000+ KRONOS users by responding to system related questions, taxation issues, complex problems, training, and provides solutions for users.
  2. Analyzes system capabilities, data integrity and business processes as part of daily activities and makes recommendations for improvements to ensure the highest efficiency of tasks.
  3. Makes effective and objective decisions regarding task priorities and other situations where multiple factors must be considered and weighed in order to maximize performance, accuracy, productivity and results.
  4. Researches, diagnosis, and resolves issues occurring with data, setup, processes, and interfaces. Provides recommendations to management on improvements to mitigate problems.
  5. Responsible for maintaining Payroll System users by taking action on submitted access requests. Establishes agency employees in timekeeping system and performs needed maintenance.
  6. Assist with the processing of payroll by initiating tasks, developing/generating reports, preparing tax payments and managing tasks to successfully complete the payroll process.
  7. Reconciles the payroll run by balancing the weekly payroll and preparing payment requests. y
  8. Understand all PR/HR interfaces and troubleshoot system problems so that the system(s) continue to operate efficiently. Initiates contact with third party vendors as needed for support.
  9. Designs & conducts training for KRONOS Timekeeping, Analytics and Advance Scheduler of other analysts; as well as hospital PR/HR users. Communicates changes and develops application user tools to enhance system knowledge.
  10. Provides timely support to employees, vendors and leadership of the DMC. Anticipates and responds to the needs of others in a timely and courteous manner. Treats others with care and respect while maintaining privacy, confidentiality and dignity. Maintains a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment.
  11. 11. Conducts a variety of projects related to the computerized payroll system as assigned including quarterly, year-end and the generation of W2 reports and annual payroll analysis

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification

1. Associate's degree in a related field including study of computer systems or equivalent work experience.

2. Three to four years of progressively more responsible analytical experience in systems management, support or payroll end to end operations.

Skills Required

1. Organizational and analytical skills to devise systematic approaches to the solution of complex problems.

2. Understanding of complex computer information systems and report generator software to create reports which meets assigned criteria.

3. Technical understanding of the design and management of system interfaces, including the understanding of how to troubleshoot results, and make recommendations for design changes while partnering with key subject matter experts, ISD and the software vendor to achieve overall desired result.

4. Strong analytical and interpretive abilities to analyze data evaluate and interpret user requirements and make recommendations for improvements or changes in system design and use.

5. Creative thinking; analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities; self-direction;

Ability to work independently, productively and effectively within a complex environment, handles multiple/changing priorities and specialized software and interfaces.

6. Change management skills necessary to lead initiatives that will result in significant changes to work flow processes to improve and support management of labor expenses.

7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish alliances, to coach management and employees through varied and complex issues, to provide constructive feedback, to persuade and negotiate with a variety of audiences, to build consensus, to present formal courses, to develop customized educational programs, and to gather and summarize information gained by means of interviews, questionnaires, and other methodologies. Interpersonal finesse, tact and diplomacy are essential.

8. Ability to perform varied mathematical computations and to see relationships between data and to draw valid conclusions. Technical understanding of various computer software packages, such as spreadsheets, word processing, statistical analysis, database management, work flow and graphics programs.
