Hyperbaric Technician Per Diem Days Position Summary

Acts as Lead Tech. Provides hyperbaric therapy to patients as ordered by physicians. Monitors and ensures the proper delivery of treatment gas as ordered. Performs duties under supervision of the Program Director, Clinical Coordinator and/or Clinical Manager. Responsible for safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems. Monitors the patient continually during treatment for symptoms of oxygen intolerance, claustrophobia, hypoglycemic reactions, decompression sickness or any other adverse reactions to HBO therapy. Responsible for day-to-day maintenance on the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems. Acts as point person for assessment of materials that are appropriate for use in and around hyperbaric chambers.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and effectively with patients, visitors and physicians.

HYPERBARIC TECHNICIAN PER DIEM DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associates Degree.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years of Hyperbaric Medicine

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Requires basic EMT, respiratory therapy, nursing assistant training, or prior military experience in hyperbaric medicine. Certification from an approved hyperbaric course.
