Pharmacist (Full Time, Rotating Shifts)

Location: Abrazo Arrowhead Campus, 67th Ave & W Union Hills Dr, Glendale, AZ

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Pharmacist to join our team at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care services to patients while working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a high-volume, fast-paced hospital environment where your expertise will directly impact patient safety, treatment outcomes, and overall quality of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medication Therapy Management: Review and monitor patient medication therapy for safety and efficacy, considering individual health status. Provide recommendations to the patient care team and document interventions.
  • Dispensing & Compliance: Accurately prepare, label, and dispense medications in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including controlled substance regulations.
  • Inventory & Safety: Ensure proper procurement, preparation, storage, and availability of medications for patients.
  • Leadership & Supervision: Oversee technical personnel involved in drug preparation, maintenance, and dispensing processes.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Serve as a liaison with medical and nursing staff, offering guidance on drug utilization, regulatory standards, and Joint Commission compliance.
  • Physician Consultation: Provide expertise on medication utilization and therapeutic alternatives as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • At least 1 year of inpatient hospital experience or recent completion of an inpatient residency program

Licensure

  • Current Pharmacist License in the State of Arizona

Experience & Skills

  • Inpatient hospital experience (minimum 1 year) or residency training
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to thrive in a high-volume clinical setting
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with the care team
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends

Details

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts (10:00 AM–8:00 PM or 12:00 PM–10:00 PM)
  • Weekend Rotation: Every third weekend (12:00 PM–10:00 PM)
  • Departments Served: ICU (adult and neonatal), Emergency, Surgery, and multiple specialty care areas, including the Surprise/Heart Hospital
