Registered Nurse – PreOp/PACU – Full Time, Evenings
Location: Abrazo Arrowhead Campus – 67th Avenue & W. Union Hills Drive

Position Summary
As a Registered Nurse in our Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Units, you will provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients before and after surgery. This evening shift role is vital in preparing patients for procedures, monitoring them post-anesthesia, and collaborating with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre- and post-operative patient assessments and deliver individualized nursing care.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and respond quickly to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate care.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Nursing Degree or BSN required; Master’s preferred.
- Current Arizona RN license, BLS, ACLS; PALS required if caring for pediatric patients.
- Minimum one year of recent RN experience in PreOp, PACU, ICU/CCU, ED, or at least two years of Stepdown experience.
- Neuro experience is a plus (especially stroke and LVO patients).
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- CAPA, CPAN, or CNOR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
