Location: Abrazo West Campus – Level I Trauma Center

What You’ll Do:
  • First assist across multiple specialties including General, Trauma, GYN, Colorectal, Plastics, Urology, Vascular, Ortho-Trauma, Total Joints, Robotics, Neuro, and Spine
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, nurses, and surgical techs to ensure safe, efficient case flow
  • Participate in all perioperative phases:
  • - Pre-op: Review cases, confirm supply accuracy, assist with room setup
  • - Intra-op: Position patients, retract tissue, control bleeding, close wounds
  • - Post-op: Apply appropriate wound dressings and support team transitions
  • Demonstrate expert proficiency in laparoscopic procedures, including orientation and instrument manipulation using monitor guidance
  • Provide multi-layer wound closure (fascia, subcutaneous, skin) using sutures or staples based on surgeon preference
  • Demonstrates expert-level knowledge and sharp anticipatory skills across diverse surgical specialties, ensuring proactive support and critical thinking in every case
  • Maintain flexible availability to support continuity of care through case completion

Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited CSFA program and current certification (NBSTSA, NCCSA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a CSFA (CSA or SA-C) in a main OR setting
  • Background as a Surgical Technologist required
  • Level I Trauma experience preferred
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required
