General Maintenance Mechanic Full Time Days
Job Details
Primary Duties
1. Conducts job duties according to and maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety / sanitation standards, environmental and infection control standards
2. Performs basic plumbing, electrical repair, steam fitting and general maintenance on such items as food carts, operating tables, sterilizers, beds, dishwashing machines, stoves, hot water tanks and air conditioning.
3. Services equipment by lubricating, cleaning, replacing parts and making minor adjustments.
4. Makes repairs on toilets, water and steam lines, clogged drains, and sprinkler systems.
5. Performs building maintenance requiring basic carpentry, painting, plastering and other related duties.
6. Assists in the repair of complex equipment.
7. Assists with the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
8. Attends required number of departmental meetings per year.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Physical Demands:
· Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
· Frequent prolonged standing/walking
· Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs.)
· Manual dexterity and mobility
· Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies
· Manual dexterity and mobility
Skills: Machine
· Hand and power tools
Working Conditions:
· Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment
Minimum Education:
· High School or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
· Steam boiler/boiler experience
· Chiller water system experience
Certification:
· Maintains current, appropriate DMV licensure, Class C California Driver’s license or Class B (if necessary) certification required for employment. May be required to have a CDL with a passenger transport vehicle (PV) endorsement
