Chef Full Time Rotating Position Summary

Formally trained chef. Directs and supervisors activities of the food production and purchasing sections of the food service involving planning, ordering, storage, and processing (preparation, cooking, and baking of food).

SPECIAL SKILLS: Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications and food inventory experience is desirable.

SUPERVISES: Food service staff.

THE CHEF FULL TIME ROTATING CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Two or more years of post-high school education as offered by technical school / junior college or equivalent on the job training.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Foods and Nutrition or related culinary degree

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Two years related work experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: An unexpired Maricopa County Food Handler Care; or a valid card or certificate issued by an ANSI-accredited food handler training program; or a valid food handler card or certificate issued by another county within Arizona.

REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING: Culinary / work related experience.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Culinary Degree and / or related certification. CPR certification and / or First Aid Training preferred.
