RN ED Full Time Position Summary

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Position renders individualized, age specific and direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs. Acts as a supervisor by assessing, planning, delegating, and utilizing independent judgement in directing other healthcare employees for the provision of patient care. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to identify patient goals. Participates in hourly rounding. Observes safety guidelines and safe work practices. May at times be asked to be in charge for a shift(s). Supervises other members of the healthcare team.

Special Skills: Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above average pressure. Excellent customer service skills. Must have basic computer skills. Strongly preferred expr in CVICU or ICU or Min 2 years in Cardiac Stepdown.

THE RN ED FULL TIME CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

Minimum Education: RN Graduate from Accredited Program

Preferred Education: Preference for BSN Prepared Nurses

  • Minimum Experience: one year of in-hospital nursing experience within the last 3 years. We generally do not accept new graduate nurses into this specialty area
  • New Grad RN’s may be considered on a case by case basis by the hiring manager
  • Resumes from successful new graduate applicants in the past have included relevant experience such as:
    o Prior LPN
    o Practicing paramedic or new graduate Paramedic-RN bridge program
    o EMT with 911 system experience including working with paramedic partner
    o In-Hospital ER Technician/Patient Care Technician)

Preferred Experience: 1+ years of ED or ICU experience. Strong preference for those with 1+ years of experience as a preceptor or relief charge/Charge RN for applicants from non-ED care areas

Required Certifications/Licensure:
• License to practice as an RN in the state of Arizona
• BLS
• ACLS/PALS required within first 90 days post-hire

Preferred Qualifications: TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS, CEN, CCRN. Please include information for any other higher level healthcare certifications you believe are relevant with your application.
