Security Officer Part Time Days Position Summary

Security Officer (Unarmed Security) are instrumental in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, patients, physicians, students, vendors and visitors by monitoring and patrolling our facilities. Officers demonstrate exceptional customer service while providing assistance with disruptive incidents, emergency services, personal protection and traffic/parking control.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to perform continuous physical exertion activities (going up and down multiple flights of stairs, standing and walking for extended periods of time, carrying people in emergency situations, etc.), as needed. Must meet all physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. May require annual fitness for duty assessment. Must be able to perform duties wearing personal protective equipment (Masks, gowns, security-related equipment, etc.), as required. May be required to undergo annual background check in accordance with company policy. Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional and effective manner. Ability to use initiative and independent judgment. Ability to frequently prepare written reports and provide quality customer service. Ability to handle both common and crisis situations, calmly and efficiently. Must have a working knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, security software/CCTV/alarm technologies as well as access control systems. Strong working knowledge of pertinent law, investigations, and law enforcement community. Ability to manage complex projects including managing to a project timeline, acquiring and allocating resources, ensuring quality deliverables, effective communication, and program management.

SUPERVISES: Security Personnel

THE SECURITY OFFICER PART TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school graduate or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience (Experience is two to three years in a security role, law enforcement or military background or a minimum of three years of strong customer service roles with the ability and willingness to learn security practices.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Three or more years in a progressively more responsible leadership role.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Requires the ability to obtain, and maintain, appropriate state license/certifications for this position.

Crisis Intervention Certification preferred, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of start of role. Must be able to maintain certification while in role. Must maintain a valid state driver’s license, driver history that meets company requirements
