Description
Position Summary
- Security Officer (Unarmed Security) are instrumental in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, patients, physicians, students, vendors and visitors by monitoring and patrolling our facilities. Officers demonstrate exceptional customer service while providing assistance with disruptive incidents, emergency services, personal protection and traffic/parking control.
Responsibilities:

- Provides protective service to employees, patients, physicians and visitors including security escorts.
- Provides surveillance of employees going to and from parking areas during shift change. .
- Secures buildings. Unlocks/locks offices. Patrols assigned areas on foot. Assists nursing and medical staff with difficult patients or visitors.
- Assists medical staff with insuring patient safety. Responds to emergency alarms, code blues and other calls for emergency assistance. Enforces hospital policies.
- Prepares routine activity reports and preliminary Investigative Reports. . Assists, city, state and federal law agencies as required.
Qualifications

- Ability to perform continuous physical exertion activities (going up and down multiple flights of stairs, standing and walking for extended periods of time, carrying people in emergency situations, etc.), as needed.
- Must meet all physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. May require annual fitness for duty assessment.

- High school graduate or GED required or equivalent combination of education
- experience (Experience is two to three years in a security role, law enforcement or military background or a minimum of three years of strong customer service roles with the ability and willingness to learn security practices, and also Three or more years in a progressively more responsible leadership role.
- Requires the ability to obtain, and maintain, appropriate state license/certifications for this position.
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license, driver history that meets company requirements
- Preferred Requirements
- Crisis Intervention Certification, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of start of role.
