Behavioral Health Tech Full Time Days Position Summary
Assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care to patients ranging from adult to geriatric. Functions as an active member of the Multidisciplinary Treatment Team under the direction and supervision of the RN. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth, development and assessment data, reflective of the patient’s current status in relation to their age specific needs.
THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECH FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Must possess good communication and organizational skills including therapeutic interactions and interventions, possess ability to prioritize tasks and be knowledgeable of medical terminology. Must be able to de-escalate and promote safe environment. Must be able to measure vital signs accurately, monitor and measure intake and output accurately, monitor and ensure NPO status (including explanation to patient), monitor and estimate fluid and food intake with accuracy and implement basic physical hygiene care. Must be able to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs that are age appropriate. Must be able to select proper instrumentation / supplies appropriate for age group of patient served. Minimum Education: High School Diploma Minimum Experience: One year psychiatric experience preferred. Would consider AA degree in lieu of experience, enrollment as a nursing student or in medical field (EMT). Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: Certified Nursing Assistant and/or minimum of 1 year of psychiatric experience, BLS upon hire, CPI within orientation period.
