EMS Director Full Time Days Position Summary
Accountable for managing, planning, organizing and reviewing activities and functions of the Emergency Medical Services department. Responsible for development and modification of the Emergency Preparedness Plan and other Joint Commission activities.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration or other related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum Experience: Ten (10) year’s Emergency Medical Services experience preferred. Must have managerial experience in related field and possess strong interpersonal skills.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
- South Carolina Paramedic certification required
- Nationally Registered Paramedic certification within 6 months of employment
- American Heart Association BLS required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire
- American Heart Association ACLS required.
- American Heart Association PALS or PEPP required within orientation period
- NIMS compliant with Incident Command/Incident Management within orientation period
- 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 within orientation period
- Valid Driver’s License
