EMS District Chief Full Time Days Position Summary
Accountable for the oversight and direction of all on duty EMS field staff and actively engaged public safety personnel involved in the support or delivery of emergency medical care. Exemplifies the highest professional standards and continuously fosters an enriching, supportive and dynamic team environment. Directs field operations and coordinates emergency medical personnel and resources to assure provision of high performance emergency medical services. Administers basic and advanced life support procedures to patients at the accident or illness scene, and if needed, may become active in transporting to medical facilities. Manages and coordinates interagency control at the scene of a major disaster and coordinates actions of all EMS staff and first responders. Maintains daily time keeping, assists with scheduling, electronic patient care reporting (ePCR), monitors and maintains resource allocation, performs performance evaluations, employee recognition and accountability, internal/external conflict resolution, and other supervisory duties.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor Degree from a 4 year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 5 years as a 911 EMS provider. Prefer with 2 years as a Senior Paramedic - FTO.
Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:

- South Carolina Paramedic certification required
- Nationally Registered Paramedic certification within 6 months of employment
- American Heart Association BLS required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire
- American Heart Association ACLS required.
- American Heart Association PALS or PEPP required within orientation period
