Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an approved college or university and be a graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent. Personnel who, prior to 2/28/92, have qualified at the Medical Technologist level by achieving a satisfactory grade on an HHS examination and also meets the qualifications. Meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 4 years as Medical Technologist.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Supervisory experience

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certified (registered) in accordance with an approved certifying agency, e.g. ASCP, NCA, AMT or equivalent. Once certified, no annual renewals are required.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Medical Directors and management staff, responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed throughout the clinical laboratory on all patients, from neonates to geriatric patients ensuring patient safety. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
