Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

Education:        High School Diploma or GED, ASI/ISS training or experience, and ICD-10 training preferred, completion of Trauma Registrar training course or equivalent experience; must attend (or have previously attended) two courses within 12 months of being hired: (1) the American Trauma Society’s  Trauma Registrar Course or equivalent provided by a state trauma program; and (2) the Association of the Advancement of Automotive Medicine’s Injury Scaling Course “.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Trauma Registrar maintains State and County mandated information in the Trauma One database. S/he assigns ICD 10 codes as well as AIS/ISS scores and runs reports from this information to meet regulatory requirements.
